Island of the Dolls
Here in Mexico City there is an island in lake Xochimilco called Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls), where a man named Julián Santana Barrera placed a lot of dolls, maybe hundreds? They are mostly outside and subjected to the elements. If you ever get a chance to go there I highly recommend it, it’s insane.
Here are some pics I took out there

Detroit
I spent a day in Detroit taking photos a couple of months ago. It was crazy cold, but I got some good photos out there. I like ruins and rusty industrial stuff. Here are some pieces from that trip.
Check out the colors on this, zoom in for detail if you can. It’s like music, things repeat and shift in a chaotic, syncopated rhythm I find hypnotic.
When I did this I thought it was a failure. “Oh well, they don’t all work out!” Then I went back to look at it later, now it’s one of my favorites. It’s a higher rez than most of my posts, it’s really important to get the detail.

No Trespassing
No Trespassing. Forgive out trespassers, as we forgive. But do we?
This is from Sunken City, by San Pedro. Graffiti on a sign.
Graffiti on a sign. No big whoop.

Desert Jesus Park
This place is amazing, out by Joshua Tree. My latest artistic interpretation, dig.
Jesus with a child. Can’t really see the child much any more
Another version of the same original pic

Futuro House
This place is insane. It really looks like this!?
So check it out - Joshua Tree Futuro House. Designed in the 60’s-70’s. So cool!
Sunken City
City. Sunken.
I went down to Sunken City the other day, in San Pedro California. It is pretty much art paradise for me. Everything looks amazing and is covered with bright graffiti. Here’s a couple of versions of the same picture, which do one you like better?
I really like both of these. Here’s the original picture I shot -
Hope you like them as much as I do!
Ideality?
This is Ideal.
This is ideal.
It is ideal. It is without imperfection. Timeless, implacable.
Behold.
This place is in the San Gabriel Valley where I live. It looks pretty much like this, you’d recognize it. I saturated the color and took out all the shadows and wires. Oh, and I did the bush. And the floating buckets on the right. But other than that it looks like this.
I love the way the door droops down on the right. It makes the whole thing just a little cockeyed. Something wonderfully off putting about it. Another in my slightly annoying art series? I think so.
Welcome

Welcome to my page. I am using this to share my art with you, hope you like it
This is from a photo I took of Frank Gehry’s house in Santa Monica. It’s an amazing looking house, If you’re ever in the area I recommend checking it out. I’ve taken a lot of liberties with the place though, it doesn’t really look like this! Sorry Frank…
